When I walked into the Museum of the Moving Image,
everything was so lively. As I was
walking up the stairs, there was a screening that was playing. At first, I didn’t
really pay an attention, but then I gazed at the projector for a second and I couldn’t
walk away not watching the Animation that was playing. The Animation that was playing was called “
Plymptoons” its by Bill Plympton. This short
film of Bill Phympton was very humorous and the creativity was beautiful. I have
enjoyed watching this short animation very much.
Then as
I was looking around the museum, I was really excited to see all the arts and exhibitions.
I didn’t except to see all these exciting things at this museum since it’s in
Astoria. When I went to the second floor,
I saw some very old cameras and recording. The old fashion cameras were heavier and huge,
unlike the once from today. It was
amazed looking at a very human like statue that was displayed, it was of the girl from the movie “Exorcist
” , which is one of my most favorite movie. She looked very real and scary as
she did in the movie.
Another
part of the exhibition that I enjoyed the most was going to the computers, and select to play short scenes from the movies. I have never seen the movie “
Twister”, so when I clicked to
preview the short scene from that movie, It was pretty amazing how the shot was
taken. I loved the way how the shot was
taken from long and wide angle, then it zooms
into the two characters inside the car.
I have enjoyed going to the museum of the Moving Image as much as I have
enjoyed going to the MOMA, but I did not except to see all those amazing exhibitions.
I would defiantly go back there again.
